Mazumder Awarded M. Eugene Merchant Manufacturing Medal

Jyoti Mazumder, Founder/Managing Partner of SenSigma LLC and the Robert H. Lurie Professor of Mechanical Engineering has been awarded the M. Eugene Merchant Manufacturing Medal by the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME/SME). This medal is awarded to an individual who has had significant influence and responsibility for improving the productivity and efficiency (either by research or by implementation of research) of the manufacturing operation. The medal recognizes Prof. Mazumder’s  significant contribution to “quality assured manufacturing” through the development of SOMS, SenSigma’s Smart Optical Monitoring System. SOMS provide on line diagnostic of the defect, composition and microstructure to avoid waste by maintaining product quality.
